Introduction to Paper Piecing: Coasters
This workshop is part of our sustainability series at Swanson’s Stash House in Turners Falls focused on projects that help make your home more sustainable, and/or are made of scraps!
Learn the principles of paper piecing and how to work with teeny tiny quilting cotton scraps by making abstract coasters! Through making a set of coasters, students will practice the basics of paper piecing - a classic quilting method that lets you accomplish elaborate geometric images in quilted form. Students will learn to quilt and bind their coasters for a neat finished product and a means of translating these skills to larger quilted works.
Use the machines in the workroom, or bring your own. All materials are included, if you want to work with specific fabrics you are welcome to supply your own.
3 Hour Class: Monday June 29th, 5pm until 8pm for $65 at Swanson’s Stash House in Turners Falls
